Maritime Museum special event this Thursday Presentation by Valerie van Heest

Join the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum, Mason County Historical Society, and Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association Thursday March 15th, 7pm at Ludington United Methodist Church for the conclusion of our joint winter lecture series.

Our speaker for the evening, author, maritime historian, and shipwreck explorer Valerie van Heest will be presenting “Fatal Crossing” the story of Northwest Airlines Flight 2501 which went down in a storm over Lake Michigan in June 1950. The wreckage of the plane has never been found but Valerie and the Michigan Shipwreck Research Association along with Clive Cussler and the National Underwater and Marine Agency have spent years searching and hoping to find answers to one of Lake Michigan’s biggest mysteries.
