Travel back in time and deep beneath the waves to explore the many shipwrecks lost off the shores of West Michigan due to storm, fire, ice, mishap, and mechanical failure. Through the discovery and underwater archaeology of these sloops, scows, schooners, steamers, self-unloaders, and pleasure craft, historians have been able to better understand the role these craft played, the causes for their demise, and the significance they hold as time capsules of an era that shaped our local lakeshore communities.
The museum is operated by the Mason County Historical Society, which also operates the nearby Historic White Pine Village.
